Best product that will impact the future of golf: The AlmostGolf Ball. This ball is one-quarter the weight of a regulation ball and flies about 110 yards maximum. It looks like a real ball but is made of foamed polymer. It will fade and draw, but won't break windows. Heck, it won't even dent interior walls under normal conditions.
Rob Peterson founded AlmostGolf (www.almostgolf.com) because he was looking for a way to play the Loyola Marymount (University) AlmostGolf Invitational, which was designed for an imaginative 18-hole course through the LM campus. "We wanted to go around and over buildings, things like that," Peterson said.
So they did. Up next is a full-fledged AlmostGolf tour, to be played on different college campuses.
But Peterson has bigger goals in mind. Such as using AlmostGolf to bring new golfers to the game. "It is a young, hip way to grow the game of golf," Peterson said. "This to me is a doable outreach for The First Tee or Golf 20/20."
Playing with this ball is so much fun that an impromptu long drive contest broke out Saturday night in the Orange County Convention Center after the PGA~ Merchandise Show officially closed for the day.

This
year's European PGA Golf Show in Munich featured presentations by renowned
European PGA teaching Guru Harold ìDocî Swash.
Mr. Swash is the inventor of the C-Groove putter, manufactured by Yes!
Golf. The C-Groove putter was used by Retief Goosen to win the 2001 US Open.
Some of Harold's past students include Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnan,
Bernard Langer, Gary Player, Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie, Darren Clark, Lee
Westwood, Paul Azinger, and many other PGA pros in Europe and the US.
The
Putting Doctor's main condition was that he would perform his presentations ìon
the best synthetic turf surface in the market today.î
